Every week we search the supermarkets and food websites to find a selection of new products and special offers to help you stay on plan with Slimming World.
We always try to include a range of Free Foods, some Speed Foods and a few exciting ways to use your Syns allowance in our Shopping Essentials round up.
Slimming World always recommend having 1/3 Speed Food with every meal as part of the Extra Easy plan. If you’re not sure whether your fruit and vegetable choices are Speed Foods, you can check our Speed Foods list.
We regularly feature prepared fruit pots in our Shopping Essentials round up. They’re a great way to grab a filling and tasty snack and stay perfectly on plan.
This is a new combination that is a bit different! Black grapes, apples and raspberries offer a sweet/sharp contrast, with the apples giving some crunch too.
The grapes are free and the apples and raspberries are Speed Food. Great for breakfast, an on-the-go snack, or to satisfy those evening nibbles.
This fruit pot is available from Asda, priced at £1.75 for a 230g pot.
We brought you a couple of new salad bag varieties in last week’s shopping essentials list which were described as mild in flavour.
This new bagged salad from Tesco Finest really packs a punch! Hot and peppery flavours that will liven up any meal. You could serve with our Syn Free Crustless Quiche Lorraine for a delicious lunch.
The mustard and rocket leaves are Speed Food, and as there’s no specific information on nasturtium leaves, we’re saying they’re free to protect losses.
A vibrant mix of rocket, red mustard and baby nasturtium leaves, specially selected for their punchy, warming flavour.
This Tesco Finest Hot Rocket & Red Mustard Leaf Salad costs £1.75 for an 85g pack. You can find it here, on the Tesco website.
We’re often asked about salad dressings over in the Facebook group. Obviously there are various salad cream and mayonnaise options, but these all carry a Syn value.
If you like to save your Syns for other treats, this new Hellman’s Fat Free Vinaigrette dressing is for you! Try it on a simple salad, served with our very popular Syn Free Mexican Enchilada Lasagne!
Made using a mix of herbs, garlic and red peppers, this completely fat free dressing also has no artificial flavours, preservatives or colours and is suitable for Vegans.
It’s free on the Slimming World Syns Online database. You will find this in Tesco, priced at £1.65 for a 210ml bottle. You can also find it here, on the Tesco website.
Marks and Spencer have brought out a new range of barbecue-friendly foods just in time for summer.
We’ve looked at a few of the items to show you, and hopefully there will be more information in future Shopping Essentials lists.
These M&S ‘The Grill’ Skinny Dogs are made from 3% fat British outdoor bred pork, with an American Style, smoky seasoning. They’d be delicious served with Syn Free Orzo Primavera Pasta Salad.
A 100g sausage is just 1.5 Syns, already listed on Syns Online. They cost £4 per pack and they’re in the 3 for £10 deal.
We always try to include some vegetarian options in the Shopping Essentials choices. This week we’ve found some super tasty sounding vegetarian sausages in M&S.
Our first choice is these Veggie Butternut Squash and Paprika sausages. Made with butternut squash, mature cheddar cheese, green lentils, brown rice, and smoked paprika, they’d be great served with our Syn Free Mexican Slaw.
A pack of 6 sausages costs £2.50, and they are on Syns Online at 2 Syns each.
Whilst we were researching for the Shopping list, we found more yummy looking vegetarian sausages in M&S this week too!
Veggie Sweet Potato & Red Pepper sausages are made with mature cheddar cheese and red kidney & black beans and a hint of chilli. Slimming World have listed them as 1.5 Syns each on the Syns Online database.
If you like a bit of heat, you could make our Syn Free Sweet Chilli Sauce to serve with these sausages.
Available in a pack of 6, these sweet potato & red pepper sausages cost £2.50 in Marks & Spencer. They are gluten free and suitable for freezing too.
The bank holiday weekend was a real sizzler, hot and sunny for most of the UK. There were lots of posts over in the Facebook group asking for barbecue suggestions. We have some great ways with Syn Free BBQ Chicken Steaks on the website.
We’re staying on the barbecue theme with these new Chicken Fajita Sizzle Steaks from Iceland. Ideal for the impromptu outdoor get-together, they are boneless, skinless chicken breast steaks, coated with a fajita style blend of spices and herbs.
You can cook these from frozen on a barbecue, in the oven, or pan-fry them. Using the Syns Calculator they work out at 0.5 Syns each!

I love a classic combo of flavours, and you can’t get much more classic than this! Lamb and Mint go together so well, so these Iceland Lamb & Mint Kofta kebabs are a great find!
We have our own recipe for Syn Free Beef Kofta kebabs on the website, which could be adapted and made using lamb if you’d prefer.
Perfect for the barbecue, or cooked indoors if the weather hasn’t received the memo! They are made from lamb with a mint seasoning, formed around a wooden skewer.
We’ve used the Syns Calculator on the Slimming World website to work out a Syn value of 3 Syns per skewer.

If you’re already in our Facebook Group, you will know that kebabs have been really popular recently. Our legendary Syn Free Chicken Kebab is a real showstopper, and it tastes as good as it looks!
Morrisons have brought out these Ancho Chilli Beef Kebabs to add to their ‘The Best’ range. Made from gluten free seasoned British beef with Ancho chilli powder, they have a chilli rating of 2 – medium!
Morrisons Ancho Chilli Beef kebabs are listed at 2 Syns each on the Slimming World app. You could enjoy a couple of these and stay well within your Syns allowance for the day.

It’s always nice to find something a little bit different for a change at mealtimes. As you know, we have a fabulous range of recipes on the Pinch of Nom website, so it’s a great place to start when meal planning on Slimming World.
These Morrisons Mango & Lime Mini Chicken fillets can be cooked, then served hot or cold. I think I’ll be having them with our Syn Free Indian Fried Rice. Nom!
Using the Syns Calculator, these flavoured chicken fillets work out at just 2 Syns per half a 350g pack.

We love finding new HEB choices to share with you. Slimming World are always adding to their Healthy Extras list, so it’s always worth checking the app when you see a new product that might qualify as a Healthy Extra choice.
Ryvita Rye Crispbreads are made with pea protein, brown & golden linseed & nigella seeds. You can have 3 of this flavour as a Healthy B choice, or for 5 Syns.
A 200g packet usually costs £1.60, but Sainsbury’s have an introductory price of £1.00 per pack. If you like them, stock up while the offer lasts!

Last weekend was beautiful! Hot and sunny, which was pretty amazing for a Bank Holiday in the UK! When the weather is warm, thoughts turn to ways to cool down, and lollies are a popular choice.

In recent shopping articles we’ve covered a range of frozen desserts, ice creams and lollies. This week we’re bringing you some delicious lollies from Morrisons ‘The Best’ range.

A fruit sorbet is a really light and refreshing way to finish a meal. They are often lower in calories, and therefore lower in Syns too!

Remember Swizzels? It’s a brand name that I always associate with sweets and chews from my childhood! These Push Up Sweet Shop Favourite Freezable pops are reminiscent of those flavours.
You just freeze them at home, ready to enjoy anytime. They are made with fruit juice & all natural colours. As well as being gluten free, they are suitable for vegetarians.
We’ve used the snackulator on the Slimming World website to calculate the Syn value. They work out at 1 Syn each.
Swizzels Push up! freezable pops come in a box of 5 and cost £1.00 in Morrisons.
